"2050 COFFEE" born from the 2050 problem

"By 2050, climate change and rising global consumption may make it difficult to enjoy coffee at the price and quality we enjoy today."
This is the so-called "coffee 2050 problem."

Due to the progression of global warming and the fact that consumption is outpacing production, it is said that the area where Arabica beans are grown will be halved by 2050. Meanwhile, global coffee demand is increasing year by year, and the imbalance between production and consumption is becoming more serious.

Our brand "2050 COFFEE" was born out of this issue. Even the brand name symbolizes our challenge to the 2050 problem . Our starting point is our desire to "protect a future where coffee can be enjoyed even after 2050."

Our mission: to change the coffee industry

Coffee has long been seen as an "inexpensive everyday drink," and its production and distribution have been carried out in a way that harbors vestiges of colonial structures. As a result, structural problems persist, such as producers not receiving fair profits and the prevalence of industrial "factory farms" that place a heavy burden on the environment.

2050 COFFEE aims to fundamentally overturn this "cheap, mass-produced, faceless coffee" model and make sustainable, traceable coffee that gives fair returns to producers the "next normal."

  • Vision
Build the future of coffee, together
"Let's build the future of coffee together"
Only by working together – not just us, but farmers, consumers and the entire industry – can we change the future of coffee.
  • Mission
Make the world better through coffee
"Making the world a better place through coffee"
Through one cup of coffee, we hope to contribute to solving social issues and protecting the environment, and leave a rich coffee culture for the next generation.

What 2050 coffee wants to achieve

A supply chain that directly connects producers and consumers

  • We will purchase coffee beans at a fair price and create a system that allows producers to earn stable profits over the long term. We will also update production sites to be more sustainable through investment in farm equipment and educational support.

Expanding the experience of deepening understanding of coffee

  • We redefine the value of coffee by clearly communicating the origins, varieties, processing methods, and even the stories of the producers. We foster a coffee culture that goes beyond "cheap and just drinks it," and instead "drinks with an awareness of the flavor, background, and future."

Technology and store design that will take you to the next level

  • By introducing the latest technology, such as automation and tap coffee, we ensure consistent quality and speed. As a result, staff can focus more on "telling the coffee story." We are lowering the barriers to entry so that everyone, from coffee novices to specialists, can easily enjoy a high-quality cup of coffee.

Automation and AI

At 2050 coffee, we actively embrace technology to bring about the following benefits:

  • Ensuring consistent quality regardless of who brews the coffee <br/>This provides a consistent taste that is not too dependent on the barista's skill, while creating space for them to focus on customer service.
  • Lowering the barrier to access
By streamlining store operations and reducing constraints on space and personnel, we can increase the possibilities for more people to enjoy sustainable coffee.
  • As an alternative to mass-consumed coffee
Aiming to replace cheap, industrially produced coffee, it is a way to deliver a "traceable, sustainable cup of coffee" to demographics that have not been reached before.

Creating the future with you

The name 2050 coffee expresses our desire to "make people aware of the 2050 coffee problem." We hope that not only will you learn about it, but that you yourself will become part of the solution . "Every cup of coffee every day has the power to change the future" - this is the belief that drives us as we move forward.
